Bengaluru Airport Hotel Transfers: Walking to the Taj, Cabs to Devanahalli, and Why No Hotel Here Runs a Free Shuttle

Transfers at Bengaluru Airport are simple because the choices are few. The 080 Transit Hotel is inside Terminal 2, the Taj Bangalore is a 300-metre walk from Terminal 1 with a shuttle on request, and the two Devanahalli hotels are a 300 to 600 rupee app cab or hotel car away; no hotel here runs a scheduled free shuttle. Below is how to reach each hotel from each terminal, what it costs at 3 am, and how to get back in time for your flight. Verified September 2026.

080 Transit Hotel: no transfer

The 080 Transit Hotel is on the arrivals level of Terminal 2, 100 metres from the baggage belts. Arriving at Terminal 2, walk to it after customs; a lift opposite its entrance goes up to departures when you leave. Arriving at Terminal 1, take the free inter-terminal shuttle, every 10 to 20 minutes around the clock and 3 to 5 minutes on the road, to the Terminal 2 forecourt and walk in through arrivals. There is nothing to book and nothing to pay for the transfer.

Taj Bangalore: walk or shuttle on request

The Taj Bangalore is on the airport campus opposite the terminals: 300 metres from Terminal 1, a five-minute walk along the campus road with hand luggage, and 2.1 km from Terminal 2. The hotel runs a shuttle on request to and from both terminals; call the hotel or ask the desk with your flight time, and for an arrival tell them the flight number when you book so a car can be waiting. From Terminal 2 with luggage, either wait for the hotel car or take the free inter-terminal shuttle to Terminal 1 and walk the last 300 metres. Leaving, allow ten minutes to Terminal 1 on foot and fifteen to Terminal 2 by car.

Bloom and Moxy: app cabs and hotel cars

The Bloom Hotel at Sadahalli, 5 km down the airport road, and the Moxy in Devanahalli Business Park, 9 km away, both rely on cabs. Ola and Uber pick up at the dedicated zones outside each terminal, signed “App Taxis” from arrivals and a few minutes’ walk from the doors; book when you reach the zone, since drivers wait only briefly. Expect 300 to 400 rupees to the Bloom and 400 to 600 to the Moxy including the airport pickup charge, and 10 to 20 minutes on the road, with surge pricing at the 1 am to 4 am international bank and in rain. Both hotels book a private car at a fixed price if you ask before you land; the Moxy’s is a chauffeur service billed to the room, the Bloom’s a local cab, and both cost more than an app but wait at the door with your name. The prepaid counter in arrivals also covers both hotels at its minimum zone fare, with no surge.

Getting back for your flight

From the Devanahalli hotels, book the return the night before: app cabs are thin on the ground around Devanahalli at 4 am, and the hotels know it, so ask reception to fix a car for a set time. Ten to twenty minutes on the road plus five to the forecourt is enough outside the evening peak; add fifteen if you leave between 5 pm and 9 pm, when the airport road backs up behind the city traffic. From the Taj, walk to Terminal 1 or ring for the car to Terminal 2 twenty minutes before you want to be in the hall. From the transit hotel, take the lift.

Which terminal to tell the driver

Cabs drop at the departures level of whichever terminal you name, so tell the driver Terminal 1 for IndiGo, Akasa, Alliance Air and SpiceJet domestic flights and Terminal 2 for every international flight and for Air India, Air India Express and Star Air domestic; the terminal guide has the full split. Getting it wrong costs a free shuttle ride and ten minutes. For onward travel to the city rather than the hotels, the airport to city guide covers the Vayu Vajra buses and the fare zones.

Tips

Keep 500 rupees in small notes for tolls and tips even with an app cab. If your flight lands in the middle of the night, the prepaid counter’s fixed fare is worth more than the app’s discount. For a family with a pram and four bags, book the hotel car; the app-cab zone is a walk and the cars are small. And if the transfer is the reason you are hesitating, remember that two of the four hotels in this guide need no cab at all.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do any Bengaluru Airport hotels have a free shuttle?

Not a scheduled one. The Taj Bangalore, on the airport campus, provides a shuttle on request for its 300 metres to Terminal 1 and 2.1 km to Terminal 2. The 080 Transit Hotel is inside Terminal 2 and needs no transfer. The Bloom and the Moxy in Devanahalli have no shuttle; you take an app cab or book the hotel's car.

How much is a cab from Bengaluru Airport to the Devanahalli hotels?

Roughly 300 to 400 rupees to the Bloom Hotel, 5 km away, and 400 to 600 rupees to the Moxy, 9 km away, in an Ola or Uber including the airport pickup charge, more when the app surges at night. A hotel car booked in advance costs more but waits for you; the prepaid counter's minimum zone fare covers both.

Where do I get a cab at Bengaluru Airport?

Follow the App Taxis signs from arrivals to the Ola and Uber pickup zone outside each terminal, a few minutes' walk, and book once you are there. The prepaid taxi counters are inside the arrivals halls, with the rank outside the doors. Auto-rickshaws do not serve the airport.

Can I walk from the airport to a hotel?

To the Taj Bangalore, yes: 300 metres from the Terminal 1 forecourt along the campus road, five minutes with hand luggage. From Terminal 2 it is 2.1 km, so take the hotel's shuttle or the free inter-terminal bus to Terminal 1 and walk from there. The Devanahalli hotels are on a highway and are not walkable.
